Desde a inf\u00e2ncia, sempre adorei l\u00ednguas estrangeiras. Fiz minha primeira aula de espanhol com seis anos, e desde ent\u00e3o foi meu assunto favorito durante meus anos escolares. Eu me formei em espanhol pela Universidade da Virg\u00ednia, e durante meu segundo ano, na primavera de 2014, estudei no exterior em Val\u00eancia, Espanha. Aproveitando o tempo no estrangeiro, visitei Portugal e fiquei fascinado com como a l\u00edngua portuguesa parecia t\u00e3o semelhante mas ao mesmo tempo foi t\u00e3o diferente. Ao retornar \u00e0 Virg\u00ednia, decidi estudar Portugu\u00eas tamb\u00e9m. No ver\u00e3o de 2015, voltei \u00e0 Espanha para realizar uma pesquisa lingu\u00edstica nas Ast\u00farias, e depois fui a Lisboa para um curso de ver\u00e3o em portugu\u00eas.<\/p>\n

After researching and writing a Distinguished Major’s Thesis on Spanish historical linguistics, I graduated from UVA in 2016 with Highest Honors. Having become enamored of learning about foreign cultures and languages, I spent a year and a half after graduation teaching English in C\u00f3rdoba, Argentina. The year after that, I went to Vit\u00f3ria in Esp\u00edrito Santo, Brazil, continuing to teach English, both in person and online. Apart from teaching, I also went camping, hiking, and learned to rock climb and dance forr\u00f3.<\/p>\n

In the fall of 2019, I began a master’s program in linguistics at the University of Lisbon, where I continued immersed in both Brazilian and Portuguese culture.
